Comano, is a town surrounded by greenery with small hamlets and a main village, along the Taverone stream, which has ancient roots, with finds dating back to ancient times and certain documents from the ninth century. The Estensi and later the Malaspina dominated Comano before Florence took control, guaranteeing political and economic stability. The main monuments are the cylindrical tower, the only one left of the Malaspina Castle of the eleventh century, located on a hill in the village, the Pieve di Santa Maria Assunta in Crespiano, Lombard and Romanesque, and the ruins of the Castle of Groppo di San Pietro. In Camporaghena, the tradition of stone working is expressed through decorated portals, coats of arms and sculptures of grotesque figures.
