The Audiovisual Museum of the Resistance of the provinces of Massa Carrara and La Spezia, located in the municipality of Fosdinovo, is an important place of memory dedicated to the Second World War and the Resistance. Both decorated with the Gold Medal for Military Valor, these provinces have contributed significantly to regaining freedom and democracy. The Museum uses a combination of oral narration and modern video projection technologies to convey the memory of events through the testimonies of the protagonists. The exhibition is not limited to a collection of memorabilia, but focuses on the preservation and transmission of the stories of witnesses: the video testimonies are organized in thematic groups that follow a chronological order, covering the rise of fascism, the Nazi massacres, the civil resistance, the drama of war and deportations, until the Liberation.
