Lunigiana’s location—connecting the Po Valley with the Ligurian Sea—has long made it a vital crossroads for several historical and religious routes, including the Via Francigena, the Via del Volto Santo, the Via degli Abati, and the Via Marchesana. These routes can be traveled on foot, on horseback, or by bicycle.
They are complemented by major CAI (Italian Alpine Club) itineraries such as the Sentiero Italia, the Sentiero dei Ducati, the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri, and the Lunigiana Trekking. In addition, a network of local trails and CAI mountain paths makes this land a true paradise for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts.
