After reaching the villages of Parana and Montereggio by car, one can immerse oneself in this unspoilt natural environment and drive up the stream bed. The route, suitable for the summer period, takes you up the river between passages where you will partially immerse yourself in the cool crystal-clear waters, bank some trees and pay some attention to slippery stones. Along the way, you will also come across the remains of some millstones and mills.

The itinerary runs along the first Tuscan stage of the Via Francigena, at the foot of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines in Valdantena, between the Cisa Pass and Pontremoli, where the territory is a riot of terraced olive groves and vineyards, chestnut forests and cool-water streams. The only requirement is to be able to swim.
